I'm thinking of going back to school, but where do I start?

Call 478-301-2440 to make an appointment with a program advisor. A professional will cover your initial questions related to enrolling in school, cost, academic support services and more. In addition to regular hours, some evening hours are also available for appointments.

Can adult students qualify for financial aid?

YES, adult students qualify for financial aid based on their family resources, the same as traditional-aged students. A program advisor can advise you on the different types of available aid, including information on tax cuts for education and scholarships.

I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up!  Can I get academic and career advising?

Yes! Mercer Educational Opportunity Center can assess your interests and experiences and how these relate to future educational and career choices. There are diagnostic testing, career inventories and reading and study strategies available that can help match your strengths and interest areas to particular programs of study and career areas. What are the eligibility requirements for the program?

To qualify for program services, the following criteria must be met

  • Be at least 16 years of age or older
  • Be non-college graduate
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Have a desire to enroll in college or technical school and
  • Have a need for one or more of our services

 

How much does this program cost?

 

All services are FREE. Mercer University Educational Opportunity Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and is designed to increase enrollment in higher education.
